Potosi-Funeral services for George Averkamp, 85. who died Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Peter Hesseling, near Dickeyville, after a brief illness, were to be held at the Holy Ghost church. Dickeyville, this morning. The Rev. Clement Haines was to officiate. Burial was to be in the Holy Ghost cemetery. Averkamp, wife of George Averkamp, died at her home in Parish (Paris) township near Dickeyville Sunday morning at 3:45 o'clock. She had been in failing health for some time. She was born September 15, 1862 in Potosi, Wisconsin, and attended the parochial school there as a child. The family later moved to a farm near Fairplay where they lived for a number of years. She was married November 20, 1888 in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin to Mr. Averkamp and they later moved to Paris township. She is survived by her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Peter Hessling (Cecelia) of Postosi, Wisconsin, Mrs. Adolph Salzman (Anna), Mrs. George Hartung (Theresa), Mrs. Joseph Siepker (Balbina) all of Dickeyville, two sons, Joseph of Menominee and Arthur at home; a sister, Mrs. Ben Averkamp, Dickeyville, and four brothers, Joseph and Albert Manemann of Kieler, Clem of Dubuque and Frank of Zwingle. A daughter Sophia, died when three years old. Mrs. Averkamp was a member of the Catholic church and belonged to the Holy Ghost parish in Dickeyville and to the Mother's Confraternity of that church, and the Confraternity of the Little Flower. The body is at the family home from where funeral services will be held tuesday morning at 8:30 o'clock. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Potosi - Funeral services for Bernard Averkamp, 76, who died at his home in Dickeyville, Monday after a long illness were to be held today at the residence and in Holy Ghost church, Dickeyville, with burial in the Holy Ghost cemetery. Mr. Averkamp was born March 18, 1965, in Kieler. He farmed for years, retiring 47 years ago moving to Dickeyville, where he resided the rest of his life. He was a member of Holy Ghost church, the Holy Name society of the parish, and the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin. Survivors included fives sons, Anton, Clement, Andrew and Albert Averkamp, all of Dickeyville; Nicholas, Cuba City; two daughters, Mrs. Magdalene Reuter, Potosi, and Mrs. Agnes Upman, East Dubuque; three brothers, George Averkamp, Dickeyville, and Frank and Henry Averkamp, Kieler; one sister, Margaret Averkamp, Kieler; 20 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Potosi, Wis. - Ralph G. Averkamp, 72, of Potosi, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at Grant County Regional Health Center, Lancaster. Private family services will be held with the Rev. Richard J. Leffler officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Potosi. There will be no visitation. The Metcalfe-Kuenster-Page Funeral home, Potosi, is serving the family. He was born on Jan. 21, 1927, in Jamestown Township, Grant County, son of Henry and Agatha (Kieler) Averkamp. Surviving are a sister, Anna Fritz, of Potosi; one niece; and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
